About Me

I am a post-primary English and History teacher from Ireland currently based in the UK, working in South East England teaching GCSE and Functional Skills English. I completed an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree and post-graduate Professional Diploma in Education at University College Cork, where I was the Editor of the university’s student magazine, Motley, from May 2012 to May 2013. More detail about such things can be found on my LinkedIn page, though I think it may be more fun if I kept an air of mystery.

In an interview published online I was compared to Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue, minus the Botox and cold disposition. An encyclopaedic knowledge of quotes, mainly from musicals, was also mentioned.

I’m an avid fan of theatre (drama and musical), film and literature, with further interests including writing, photography, tea, desserts, and using lovely words. And education, of course; I have a keen interest in literacy, active learning, and the use of technology and audio/visual materials in lessons.
